Where to Donate Furniture in Atlanta?
Whenever you get new furniture you always have to consider just what to do with the old furniture first. There’s always a family member or friend who stakes a claim on it but then 3 weeks later it’s still sitting in your garage.
The easiest thing to do with your old furniture is to donate it to charity. It’s not as difficult as waiting on cousin Billy to borrow somebody’s truck before coming to finally pick it up from your house. All you have to do is call up one of the local donation charities and they will give you instructions on just what to do.
While these organizations need as many furniture donations as possible they only want items that are in decent condition. So make sure that your furniture is at least in working order because the furniture will be sold or given to a needy family for reuse. The great thing about donating furniture items is you can drop off the items at their location or some of the organizations will even come to your home and pick-up the furniture.
Another huge benefit besides helping a needy cause is that donating furniture in Metro Atlanta is a tax write-off. Get a receipt when the items are picked up by the charity. Once you get the receipt, itemize the items you gave to charity and list them with their fair market value of their worth.
